2 Candidates Banned For Two Years By JKSSB For Mobile Phone Use During Exam
The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has taken strict action against two candidates found using mobile phones during the examination for the post of Panchayat Secretary.
The candidates, namely Murtaza Hamid Chowhan and Bilal Ahmad Bhat, have been debarred from appearing in any examinations conducted by JKSSB for a period of two years.
In the case of Murtaza Hamid Chowhan, who appeared for the examination at Everest Education Mission in Rajouri, the Unfair Means Committee recommended the cancellation of his candidature and a two-year debarment from all JKSSB examinations.
The committee’s decision was endorsed by the Board, with a modification that the mobile phone, along with the SIM, would be returned to the candidate after six months from the date of the examination, upon personal request to the Secretary/Controller of Examinations.
Similarly, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, who took the exam at Centre GDC Kulgam, faced the same consequences after being found with a mobile phone during the examination.

The Unfair Means Committee recommended canceling his candidature and imposing a two-year debarment from all JKSSB examinations.
The Board, in alignment with the committee’s decision, also approved the return of the mobile phone and SIM after six months from the examination date upon personal request to the Secretary/Controller of Examinations.
As per the regulations of the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (Conduct of Examinations) Regulations, 2022, the candidatures of both candidates have been canceled, and they are barred from appearing in any examinations conducted by the Board for a period of two years from the issuance of the order.
This action underscores the Board’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and fairness of its examinations and upholding disciplinary standards among candidates.
